Zapruder Film
Written by Megan Justice

The Zapruder Film may be one of the most famous pieces of historical ephemera in the world.  The video was taken on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas to commemorate president John F. Kennedy's visit to the city.  The man who recorded the film probably did not produce it to last for fifty years.  He certainly wasn't aware that his recording would be the only footage of president Kennedy's assassination, and that the film would be studied and viewed by hundreds of millions of people over the course of time.  There is a frame-by-frame breakdown of the film available online by Google, in which one can see a more enhanced version of the film by manually clicking from one to the next.  This frame depicts Jackie Kennedy's reaction to the president being shot, even before the others in the car realized what had happened.
