McClelland Barclay WWII Recruiting Posters
Written by Rachel Palmer

Barclay was a famous artist before he began drawing illustrations for the Navy.  He drew the famous "Body of Fisher" images for a General Motors Campaign.  Because his images of women were so liked, he was even a judge for the Miss America pageant (The art of McClelland Barclay).

Barclay's recruiting posters for the Navy were very successful.  Barclay perished on a Navy vessel in WWII.
