This is a movie poster for D. W. Griffith's The Birth of a Nation (1915) that appears on a wordpress blog site seemingly for a class project in a COM 123 class at a university or college.  The movie, controversial now, but mainstream and popular back in the early 20th century, depicts the Ku Klux Klan as the saviors of the United States restoring the white race to its dominant place after the Civil War and Reconstruction had disrupted the social order.  The blog post made on March 5, 2009 critiques the film for its cinematic qualities.
